Green Wedding in the UK

Annually there are approximately 300 000 wedding ceremonys taking place in the UK. Every couple expect their wedding to be chic and memorable. A new wedding ceremony called Green Wedding has been being popular in Britain since 2006.

But why could it become popular in Britain which is a centuries-old traditional and modern country?
Well, Along with the public giving more and more emphasis on environment some Briton wish their wedding could express environmental awareness and convey the consciousness to more persons on their big day. Then the Green Wedding comes into vogue. Now let’s take a glance at some green details of the wedding.
Before the wedding bridegroom’s family mail the invitation printed on recycled paper directly with no envelope, written the guest address on the back. On the wedding the guests give the green gifts or donate the money for gift to charity or nonprofit orgnization in the name of the bride and the bridegroom.

Bride wears used dress, by hire or buying from charity store, and must be made from organic fabrics, with flowers planted using no any pesticide or chemical fertilizer. And guests throw birdseeds or petals instead of confetti when the newlywed go out of the church.
At the end of the wedding bride and bridegroom sit on the horse-drawn carriage which builds a classical and romantic atmosphere leaving the church. And the food served on the banquet is made from the local, seasonal, organic stuff.
There are also many other aspects can be ‘green’ such as wedding ring, dish, honeymoon trip and so on. Now it is not difficult to plan for a Green Wedding because there are many Green Wedding service companys in the uk, such as Green Union, Ethical Weddings. They not only design every detail of the wedding according to the bride and bridegroom’s requirements, but also offer green products for the wedding. And couples can exchage their ‘green’ ideas and share their story with others on forums.
Having a Green Wedding saves something for the later, and does something good for the planet. Why not give it a go?
